Guided wave radar level measurement
Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitters utilize microwave technology to measure continuous level and interface level of liquids, solids, and slurries.
Guided wave radar is based on microwave technology. Microwaves are only affected by materials that reflect energy which means that temperature variations, dust, pressure, and viscosity do not affect accuracy.
The device sends a low energy microwave pulse down a probe. When the pulse hits the media, a significant proportion of the energy is reflected back up the probe to the device. The level is directly proportional to the time-domain reflectometry. Because a proportion of the emitted pulse will continue down the probe, an interface can also be detected.
Application of guided wave radar level transmitters
Oil and Gas Industry: Measuring liquid levels in crude oil storage tanks, refined product tanks, and separators, as well as detecting interfaces between different oil phases.
Chemical Processing: Level measurement in chemical reactors, storage tanks, and mixing vessels, including applications with highly corrosive or viscous chemicals.
Power Generation: Level measurement in boiler drums, feedwater tanks, and condensate storage tanks.
Food and Beverage Industry: Level monitoring in liquid storage tanks, mixing tanks, and processing lines for products like syrups, juices, and slurries.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: Precise level measurement in drug formulation tanks and storage vessels.
Wastewater Treatment: Monitoring liquid levels in clarifiers, sedimentation tanks, and storage basins.
